Youth Theatre Programs

Palm Beach Children's Chorus was a winner of The 2018 Great Ideas Initiative Grant offered through the Children's Services Council of Palm Beach County for The Youth Arts Workshop Theatre Program!

Palm Beach Children's Chorus is making great strides in the performing arts in Palm Beach County. In 2018, Palm Beach Children's Chorus was an awardee of the Great Ideas Initiative funded by the Children's Services Council of Palm Beach County. The "new idea" called the Youth Arts Workshop is a project  based academic (health centered) and performing arts program that seeks to engage children in the theatrical performing arts, physical health and nutrition education, community engagement, and cultural experiences that will foster good citizenship, transform and enhance their lives and enrich our community. Students participate in twice weekly (afterschool) and weekend musical theatre instruction in a group setting. In addition to musical theatre instruction, students have access to reading/literacy mentors, character education, and involvement in community life through musical theatre and performance opportunities of plays and musicals. Students in the Youth Arts Workshop are culturally and economically diverse.

We work with our sister non-profit organization, the South Florida Society for Arts and Culture to bring a dynamic children's theatre program to children throughout Palm Beach County. Our performances last season (2018-2019) included, Aladdin, Jr., Hairspray, Jr., Wonderland (The Musical Mis-adventures of a Girl Named Alice), and A Wrinkle in Time. Each production is offered as a production class during our regularly scheduled calendar year (Fall and Spring Productions). This is an optional addition to membership in Palm Beach Children's Chorus. Students receive expert instruction in theatre, vocal, and dance (choreography).
